Three of the funniest and smartest guys to walk the Carolina Panthers’ locker room have combined on a fun sports book meant to help first-year players in the NFL.
All-Pro center Ryan Kalil, former left tackle Jordan Gross and offensive lineman Geoff Hangartner co-authored “The Rookie Handbook: How to Survive the First Season in the NFL.” The 176-page book will be released Sept. 6, just two days before the start of the 2016 season.
“This one-of-a-kind manual uses illustrations and humor to examine the day-to-day life of a professional football player, through the lens of a rookie,” a release from Regan Arts reads.
The book, of course, is for everyone—not just rookies trying to navigate the league. The book includes sections on surviving awful rookie haircuts, how to choose workout attire that makes you faster and the best strategy to use in an on-field fight.

Kalil, the team’s starting center, recently signed a two-year extension that he says will allow him to finish his career with the Panthers. Gross spent his entire career with the Panthers from 2003-2013 and went to three Pro Bowls. Hangartner played eight seasons in the league, including two stints with the Panthers.
