Greg Olsen is hosting a holiday tailgate and toy drive tonight to benefit the Levine Children’s Hospital, a treatment facility with which the Carolina Panthers tight end has personal ties.

Olsen will be at the Wal-Mart Supercenter at 3240 Wilkinson Blvd. from 6-7:30 p.m. to collect donations of new, unwrapped toys. The tailgate portion of the event will include an autograph signing, grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and entertainment.

Olsen will also be shopping the store’s toy aisle to select gifts for young patients at the hospital, according to a memo Monday from Charlotte-based Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, which is helping host the event with Olsen.

Coke is also providing drinks for the tailgate. Fans who bring toys to donate will receive a coupon for a six-pack of Coke, redeemable at Wal-Mart, the statement read.

Olsen hosted a similar tailgate last month to benefit Loaves & Fishes.

Olsen and his wife established their nonprofit, the HEARTest Yard, in 2012 to assist families with children born with heart defects, like their son T.J., who was treated at the Levine Children’s Hospital.
