Seven “Keep Pounding” banners were hung on construction site cranes throughout uptown Charlotte Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s Carolina Panthers playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Banners were hung at 300 South Tryon, Skyhouse II (Ninth and Church streets), 615 S. College, Mint Museum Apartments (Levine Avenue of the Arts and Church Street), Ascent (Third and Poplar streets) and the new EpiCentre hotel. Another two will be hung at 300 South Tryon.
On the Bank of America-sponsored banners is “#KeepPounding,” the Panthers’ de facto rally cry that’s now a stadium chant, a marketing campaign and a popular social media hashtag. It comes from Sam Mills, a former assistant coach and cancer victim who used the phrase in a 2004 speech to the team.
The Panthers play the Seahawks at 1 p.m. at Bank of America Stadium.
