Mecklenburg County’s board of elections has a secret weapon in a super face-off against Denver’s election office.
His name: Muhsin Muhammad.
The former wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears will help the board show off its Panther pride Thursday, when employees will come dressed in their best Panther gear.
Photos of the staff – along with Muhammed – will be posted on Facebook in an attempt to outdo the Denver staff.

The former Panther star was recruited by election specialist Jeanette Allen, who works with Muhammad on a girls AAU basketball team, the N.C. Spartans.
“We had a challenge from the Denver board of elections on who had the most swag,” Allen says. “So I asked him to come and be our swag.”
