Charleston’s Dustin Bray is one of four players who qualified for the Wells Fargo Championship on Monday at Charlotte’s Carolina Golf Club.
Bray shot an 8-under 62 and is joined by Frank Lickliter and Hunter Green – who tied for second one stroke back – and Fielding Brewbaker. Brewbaker won a three-player playoff with James Sacheck and Jay McLuen for the fourth spot.
Lickliter, 43, a former top 50 player, is playing his third PGA Tour event of the year.
• A team led by pro Tim Putnam won Monday’s pro-am at Quail Hollow Club. Putnam was joined by Leon James, Brian Gauley, Tim Rittenhouse and Max Heineman. They beat Jason Gore’s team (which included NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin) in a playoff.

• Three players were added to the Wells Fargo Field on Monday. Troy Merritt and Bud Cauley will play on sponsor’s exemptions and Robert Streb is in by virtue of his top-10 finish at last week’s Zurich Classic in New Orleans. Also, Briny Baird withdrew from the tournament.
• Although there is nothing officially scheduled on the course for Tuesday, it remains one of the week’s most popular days with most players playing practice rounds. There is a youth exhibition scheduled for 4 p.m. on the practice tee.
