Thursday: Second segment of N.C. dove season ends.

Thursday: Third segment of S.C. dove season ends.

Saturday: Free fly-fishing clinic, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center, Fayetteville. Sponsored by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission. Jan. 24: Icycle Mountain Bike Event, Fontana Village Resort, Fontana Dam. Bicycle races in several categories. Main event is the Icycle Cross Country Lemans at 11 a.m. covering a 7-mile course though the Great Smoky Mountains.
