Main event is the Icycle Cross Country Lemans at 11 a.m. covering a 7-mile course though the Great Smoky Mountains. Feb. 18: N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission public hearing for discussion on a proposal to construct a shooting range on the Linville Tract of the Pisgah Game Lands in Burke County, 6:30 p.m., Municipal Auditorium, 401 S. College St., Morganton.

Feb. 28: Statewide N.C. hunting season for gray and red squirrels, grouse, raccoon, opossum, quail and rabbit ends.
