Carter Whitt, former Leesville basketball star, commits to Wake Forest

Carter Whitt, the former Leesville Road basketball star, announced on Monday that he has committed to Wake Forest.

Whitt announced his decision Monday afternoon on Twitter.

Whitt, a 6-3 senior point guard, transferred from Leesville Road to Brewster (NH) Academy in July. As a junior at Leesville Road, Whitt led the Pride to a 21-8 record last season. He averaged 22 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Leesville Road won the CAP-7 conference championship and reached the N.C. 4A Eastern Regional semifinal that season.

Whitt is ranked No. 66 nationally by 247 Sports and is the No. 10 point guard nationally. He had nearly two dozen offers from schools like Boston College, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Clemson.
