Summer is for lobster: here are 10 spots to get your fix.
Every week we’re celebrating another holiday inspired by food, and this time it’s lobster that’s getting all the attention. While National Lobster Day doesn’t get nearly enough shine, we had to highlight it — who doesn’t enjoy a great lobster?
Saturday, June 15, marks the observance of the special day, although in recent years, the two U.S. senators from Maine have sought Congressional recognition to celebrate it on Sept. 25. (Why not double up?)
This week, you can prepare to “seas the day” by indulging in your favorite lobster roll, or by getting extra fancy with a more upscale dinner experience. No matter how you roll, these 10 local restaurants and food trucks have you covered.
(1) Cousin’s Maine Lobster truck

It will be out at the Lobster and Beer Fest at Sycamore Brewing from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, serving up lobster quesadillas and other lobster-inspired dishes.
(2) Hickory Tavern
Multiple locations
With 6 locations within Charlotte and several others just outside of town, you can guarantee Hickory Tavern will be prepared for this holiday. The eatery offers a Maine-style lobster roll on a buttery bun.
(3) Lobster Dog food truck
Location varies
Based out of Mooresville, this food truck pops into Charlotte occasionally to bring us some pretty awesome lobster rolls.
You’ll definitely want to try the stuffed avocado with lobster, black bean corn salsa and pico de gallo, drizzled with chipotle ranch and chimichurri. Catch Lobster Dog at Sycamore Brewing’s Lobster and Beer Fest.
(4) NC Red
1921 Commonwealth Ave.
Executive chef Bruce Moffett recently opened this Plaza Midwood spot. Try the cold poached lobster or the “lobster roll” this weekend.

(7) The Palm

(8) Upstream

Enjoy some of the city’s most popular lobster rolls on the awesome patio at The Waterman. If you order the roll, you’ll get a $10 “Great Catch” card to use on a future visit.
(10) What The Fries food truck
