BFFs launch an online boutique -- Hidden Arrow -- from an apartment
Ever wonder what it would be like to start a company with your BFF? Just ask Lindsey Simmons, 27 and Kristin Moody, 26.
The Charlotte residents fulfilled their dream of running a boutique with the June 1 launch of their online clothing and accessory collection Hidden Arrow.
The two went to high school and college together, where their friendship, love of fashion and desire to start a boutique flourished.
“We’re really more like sisters,” Simmons said. “For the most part, our disagreements are fast and we get over it and we just move forward.”
Time working in New York City fashion after graduating from Florida State inspired them and made them believe they could handle a company of their own.
“We knew we could handle the amount of work New York has to offer. We knew we could do it on our own,” Simmons said.
According to Simmons and Moody, items offered on the site are “budget-friendly” and targeted at 18-33 year olds.

“Just scouring the floors for three days – that’s basically how we found all of our designers,” Simmons said.

Aside from two volunteer models (who get paid through “clothing incentives” – where do I sign up?!), the women featured in the slideshow on the boutique’s homepage are Simmons, Moody and their sisters.
Moody came up with the boutique’s name, a combination of the girls’ love for Florida State and an arrow tattoo Moody has on her left forearm.
Since Hidden Arrow is an online boutique, there isn’t a brick-and-mortar shop, but the girls do have a pretty sweet office space in Simmons’ apartment.

“We have always just been talking about it saying, ‘One day. One day’,” Simmons said.
Well, congrats ladies – “one day” is finally here.
