Let Fido be a part of your big day
The dilemma:
It’s your big day but you and your spouse are all mopey because your dog is not on the guest list for your wedding.
You’d ask a pal or your sister to look out for Snoopy, but that’s a burden you don’t want your special guests to be saddled with, especially if he decides to leave a surprise “present.”
Your wedding pictures just won’t be the same without your baby and, worse yet, you know the dog knows something big is up and he’s missing out. Not good.
The solution:
The Big Day And Week Away. This way-cool service is offered by Barks & Blooms, a local pet-sitting and dog-walking company.
These nice folks will:
– Provide round-trip escort to and from the wedding.
– Help dress your pooch in appropriate formal wear (think bow ties).
– Freshen up your dog’s coat with a good brushing.
– Chaperone the dog for the entire event and help during photos.
– Provide food, water and snackies.
– Walkies and play time while you’re busy with Aunt Margaret.
– Clean up and dispose of pet waste.
– Provide companionship and in-home care for your pet while you’re away on a honeymoon.
Origins of the idea:
“I was heartbroken two years ago when I couldn’t have Winston, my golden retriever, at our wedding,” said Barks and Blooms co-founder Jamie Greci (below). “I refused to put up wedding photos in the house without Winston. I thought at the time, ‘If there was a service that would take care of dogs at a wedding, I would go for it.’”
Greci established her service with Daniela Angelon (below) earlier this spring and is seeing a surge in business.
They provide mid-day walks while owners are away at work and in-home services while owners are traveling.
Their service area is the entire Charlotte metro region from Lake Norman through south Charlotte.
Barks and Blooms is Pet Tech Certified (Pet CPR and First Aid), PSI Certified in professional pet sitting, and insured and bonded through Business Insurers of the Carolinas.
“We take care of your pets the way you would,” Greci said.
