Cruise Carts: Your free bar hopping ride. Yes, free

I was recently invited by girls over at The Savage Way to attend the launch party for Cruise Carts. No idea what they were, but was definitely intrigued.

So I headed over to VBGB at the NC Music Factory on a rainy Thursday night. Even though the weather sucked, it was actually perfect because as soon as I parked over behind Mattie’s Diner, a golf cart pulled up and said “Need a lift?”

Ummm ….YES! Walking in the rain, in heels, down a slippery hill sounds fun and all but…. I got in the golf cart.

So what are Cruise Carts and what can they do for you?

Basically it’s a free lift if you’re lucky enough to cross paths with one. Yup, free. The advertiser on the golf cart has paid for your lift.

So ya know how every weekend you’ve been visiting trendy spots like Sycamore Brewery or Triple C and you just need a lift to The Avenues or All American? Well hellllloooo, Cruise Carts! They currently cover four neighborhoods in Charlotte: Plaza Midwood, Elizabeth, NoDa and South End.

I’m seeing big-time popularity this summer and especially during football season.

How do I grab one?

Carts can be found on the streets Wednesday-Sunday.

When you see one, simply wave it down. Sorry, no mobile app or reservation service available .. yet.

But, you can connect with Cruise Carts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
