Soon you’ll be able to drop $70K on a car - but it’s Earth friendly!

In development news …

The $70,000 Earth-friendly car: Tesla announced it is opening a dealership and service center on Independence Avenue in Matthews. The uber-expensive electric cars start at $71,000.

This will be NC’s second Tesla dealership; the first is in Raleigh.

Good night, old Knights: The old Charlotte Knights baseball stadium in Fort Mill is officially demolished. Fashion retailer Cato plans to build a distribution center and possibly a mixed-use development on the site.

Montford gets cooler: The most unexpected strip of coolness in South Charlotte – Montford Drive – now has Montford Billiards, with five tables, local beers and a jukebox. Just opened last weekend.

Skittles popcorn, anyone?:  If you really love popcorn, you’ll love Tastebuds Popcorn, a speciality shop at the Metropolitan featuring a staggering 200 flavors of popcorn. Check out popcorn that tastes like champagne, Buffalo wings and Skittles. To open in mid-March.
