#FollowFriday: Four Charlotteans who will make you smarter
For this Friday, I am dropping some serious knowledge about four Charlotteans who are doing cool, smart and innovative things. These people are on the move, and if you don’t already follow them, consider doing so immediately.
Twitter handle: @TheMattComer
What he is up to: To name a few things, Matt is the editor of @qnotescarolina, author of his own website and blog, as well as a civic leader in the city. If you are interested in the issues that are really shaping our city – especially LGBT issues – Matt’s content must be on your reading list.
Twitter handle: @amychiou
One word: Bosslady. Amy is one of the smartest and most engaged people I have ever met. I could go on all day with the things she has her hands in but I am going to stick to my current favorite, @getballot.
Do you want to get into politics but don’t really know where you stand? Enter Ballot App. The idea is simple: the app makes voting easy by matching voters with candidates that share their political views. You’re welcome.
Twitter handle: @captntracey
Where you can find him: Wherever there is food, art or carefully grown beards. Joel is an OG of the Charlotte art scene and he is constantly coming up with ways to engage the community.
For starters, there is Culture Initiative, which includes a website dedicated to arts, events and curated columns. Bonus follow: his instagram account, @captntracey.
Twitter handle: @chrishalligan
A serious success role model: Chris is a successful entrepreneur and local VC. Have you heard of the IDEA Fund Partners? It is one of the most active seed and early stage venture investors in NC and throughout the Southeast.
Charlotte is serious about being an innovation city and people like Chris are at the helm. Follow him for an instant dose of business smarts.
