What is Charlotte’s best neighborhood? Meet the winner of the 2018 Charlotte Neighborhood Bracket.

More than 5,000 votes were cast during our neighborhood version of March Madness: The 2018 Charlotte Neighborhood Bracket.

What started with 32 neighborhoods facing off last week was whittled down to two remaining neighborhoods: 8-seed Dilworth vs. 6-seed Montford/Madison Park/Park Road Shopping Center.

Along the way, we saw some major upsets.

Underdog Cotswold conquered SouthPark in the round of 32.

Ten-seed Fourth Ward dominated 7-seed First Ward in the round of 16.

Underdog Montford/Madison Park/Park Road Shopping Center claimed victory over 3-seed Elizabeth by a landslide in the round of 8.

Underdog Dilworth eked out a win against South End in the semifinals.

In spite of the fierce competition, only one neighborhood can be crowned the city’s best.

And the winner of the 2018 Charlotte Neighborhood Bracket is…

Montford/Madison Park/Park Road Shopping Center!

The neighborhood crushed Dilworth 80-percent of the vote to 20-percent.

While it’s a true heartbreaker for Dilworth, the Montford/Madison Park/Park Road Shopping Center has evolved enough that you could spend a whole day there and not get bored.

Have you tried it?

You could start with an early-morning yoga class at Charlotte Yoga, followed by breakfast at Flying Biscuit, then coffee (and maybe an eclair) and some laptop work at Amelie’s in the Back Lot.

You could grab lunch at Pasta & Provisions (plus a little patio time), browse books at Park Road Books, stroll along Little Sugar Creek Greenway then grab a drink at Dot Dot Dot and The Turnhouse Grille before dinner at Co. All that would be left is some night life action courtesy of 10 Park Lanes and Jeff’s Bucket Shop.

Sounds like a pretty perfect day to us.
