Dale Earnhardt Jr. builds a kickin’ treehouse
When you’ve built a night club in your basement and an old timey Western town in your back yard …
… your home improvement projects have only one way to go. Up. Up in a tree, to be exact. And, that is exactly what NASCAR driver and Mooresville resident, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., has done. He built a treehouse at his Mooresville house.

//><!--This is not the cobbled-together treehouse of your youth. This treehouse is complete with electricity, running water and an old school Farrah Fawcett poster.//--><!

Earnhardt was inspired to build his dream tree house after watching the Animal Planet TV show, Treehouse Masters, which designs and builds impressive treehouses.
But Junior decided that Pete Nelson, the host of Treehouse Masters, was too expensive to hire ($525 per square foot). So he bought a $100 plan from Nelson’s website and hired a contractor to build it for him.
Now, almost a year after the project began, it is nearing completion. Earnhardt and his girlfriend, Amy Reimann, took to Twitter to show off their new home in the sky.
