Wells Fargo creates commercial featuring same-sex couple
The story
Wells Fargo recently created its first national commercial featuring a same-sex couple, the latest on a growing list of U.S. companies to do so.
The one-minute ad, which was published to YouTube on April 23, shows two women learning sign language as they prepare to adopt a deaf girl.

The facts
– The San Francisco-based lender, which maintains its largest employment base in Charlotte, has featured same-sex couples in print advertising before.
– But Christina Kolbjornsen, a spokeswoman for Wells Fargo, told the Observer that the lender believes it is the first large U.S. bank to feature a same-sex couple in a TV commercial.
– Kolbjornsen also said the two women are married to each other in real life.
