Since 2015, Villani’s Bakery has accrued a sort of cult following in Concord. For years, the married duo’s business was located off Union Street.

But when the bakery decided to close its doors in June last year, it wasn’t just an ending – but a beginning.

The couple was making the move to Charlotte and opening their new doors in an area they call “Chantizzlewood” – where Chantilly, Elizabeth and Plaza Midwood intersect.

Paul and Amanda Villani opened the doors to the new Villani’s in late April, and they say business has been booming ever since. They’ve even had many of their faithful fans from Concord drive down to 901 Pecan Avenue just to get some of their famous pastries like the Bialy or rainbow cookie. There’s no telling what you’ll find in the case on any given day.

Villani’s is open every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
