Live the Southern lifestyle again with this new QC radio station
Attention Queen City: A brand new radio station has arrived, but it ain’t your average rock or Top 40 station.
Launched this past Monday, 94.7 Smoke makes you wanna grab a cold beer, go huntin’ and fishin’ in your pickup truck, watch a NASCAR race and grill some steaks with your buddies in the backyard.

94.7 Smoke doesn’t define itself as a southern rock station, but a station where any song they play can remind you of being in “The South.”
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Allman Brothers and other legendary bands will dominate the weekly playlists, but you can even hear a few country songs from bands like A Thousand Horses and Cadillac Three, or even some local bands like Simplified or Preacher Stone on the airwaves.
I even heard some throwback Hootie & The Blowfish driving into work. The main announcer between songs on 94.7 Smoke keeps it short and sweet, similar to 95.7 The Ride, but will notify you about any new songs or unknown bands you need to keep on your radar.
You can always stream the radio station on its website or by downloading the free Smoke 94.7 iPhone app in case you’re outside of the broadcast area.
And now is the best time to listen, as they’re playing 10,000 songs in a row commercial free.
So if you want to live that Southern lifestyle, set your radio to Smoke 94.7.
