5 things we just learned about Bojangles
You probably feel like you already own part of Bojangles based on how many Cheddar Bo’s you buy, but the chain’s upcoming stock offering gives you the chance to stake your Warren Buffet-like fortune on chicken and biscuits.
The other fun thing about IPOs is that you get to learn so much about the company that’s never been public before. I pored over (OK, skimmed) the 150-page document to find some fun facts you can amaze your friends next time you’re in line for some Bo-Berrys:
1) It takes 48 steps to make a Bojangles biscuit.
Not a typo. And Bo’s says they’re baked fresh every 20 minutes. Not sure how this is even possible. Does turning on the oven count as a step?

2) Bojangles wants to be about 5 times bigger.
The chain has about 620 stores right now, but they think there’s room for as many as 3,500 restaurants around the country. It’ll take a while at 7 to 8 percent growth per year, but that’s what they’re going for. Bo-dacious!

3) Bo’s customers spend an average of $6.68 per trip.
That’ll get you what, a biscuit combo with a sweet tea? Always gotta get the sweet tea. Bojangles says this proves they’re affordable. McDonald’s comes in at around $5, while it’s $13 at Shake Shack, which recently had its own IPO.

4) Bo’s is probably more selective than the college you went to.
Apparently the company only hired 5 percent of the people who applied for a job last year. They want folks who are “friendly, customer-focused, driven to provide high-quality food, and who are also a good fit for our culture.” Being choosy has cut down the turnover rate among their 8,800 employees.
5) Bojangles has locations in Roatan Island, Honduras.
In case you’re in the neighborhood.
Bojangles in Roatan, Honduras! #yum
