The Facts

– Charlotte will no longer pick up recyclables from the old 16-gallon red recycling bins starting July 6.

– After that date, only the green 95-gallon carts will be emptied.

Why?

Sanitation crews have to physically pick up the red bins to empty them. It’s six times faster for a truck with a mechanical arm to empty the green carts. And, it’s safer for employees.

We’ll hardly miss you. Now, city of Charlotte, could you please pick up our green carts every week, rather than every other?
