6 things to know about Davidson’s tux-pedo hero - Luke

The Story

A group of Davidson swimmers have helped cheer their basketball counterparts to a successful season – in their tux-pedo speedos. Yes, that’s the name of a speedo with a tuxedo design. The lead tux-pedo fan is junior Luke Burton.

6 things to know about Luke:

(1) Luke is pretty chiseled. Why? He’s a real deal swimmer from Kennesaw, GA who set the Atlantic 10 record in the 200-yard backstroke.

(2) Luke was kicked out of the game, but police decided to be nice. Luke said: “They told me I could come back if I kept my clothes on, but I think I’m going to watch the rest of it on TV.”

//><!--(3) Luke’s speedo buddies were on a spring break trip, so that’s why he was cheering solo. No big deal. Here’s the normal group://--><!

(4) Luke’s dance moves are strong and distracting. VCU missed 5 of their 7 free throws while Luke was dancing. Luke said, “Mentally, they just crumbled, it’s psychological warfare.”

(5) Luke enjoys big turtlenecks, Thanksgiving meals and does not enjoy history exams.

(6) Luke’s tux-pedo dancing video is now the #5 most watched video in the history of the Charlotte Observer.
