New stores opening at SouthPark Mall
The Story
Just in time for the holidays, Charlotte’s shopping-mecca-to-be-seen-in gets a winery, toy store and mega popular gourmet foods shop. Oh, and a Panera.
The Facts:
– Store 1: Southern Season: People are rabid about this huge gourmet store/restaurant/cooking school in Chapel Hill. Its owners are testing the market with this pop-up store in SouthPark through the holidays.
– Store 2: Toy Mania: Don’t worry, it won’t be crass like Toys R Us. This is SouthPark. We’re talking wood puzzles, retro toys and RC helicopters and cars.
– Store 3: Silver Coast Winery: Art and fine wine. Sounds like a perfect match for SouthPark.
– Also: This Land sells crafts by American artisans and gives part of its proceeds to veterans. Dave and Fran’s Taste of the South and Panera Bread add to the restaurant offerings.

We’re pretty sure we can only afford Panera. But we’ll happily accept the samples at Southern Season.
