5 restaurants you must consider for the last weekend of Charlotte Restaurant Week

The last weekend of Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week is upon us. For those of you who already know the deal: Make your reservations. For those of you who don’t: During Queen’s Feast, more than 130 restaurants in eight counties around the Charlotte area offer three-course dinner menus for $30 or $35 per person (not including tax and gratuity).

This edition of Queen’s Feast ends July 31, so you only have a few more days to take advantage.

Looking for some inspiration? Here are our five picks:

Fran’s Filling Station ($30 menu)

Katie: This is already one of my favorite lunch (on the patio) spots, but I haven’t deeply explored the dinner menu. Starters like the Carrot and Avocado Salad or the Latin Wedge with corn and avocado, as well as main dishes like the Fig, Goat Cheese and Brie Flatbread are tempting.

Corey: Katie stole mine, but I actually went here with my wife for my birthday dinner this week — forgetting it was restaurant week. One of my rules of restaurant week forbids going to a place I’ve been before, but I was happy to break it here — you can load up on some delicious Bacon-Wrapped Tater Tots, Bahn Mi Sliders and Fran’s Meatballs.

2410 Park Road.

The Pump House ($30 menu)

Katie: Really I’ve just wanted to go here ever since Sarah Crosland Instagrammed the view (see below). You get to choose between the House Cabernet and House Chardonnay to sip on. Then my eye gets drawn to Gazpacho with purple basil or Fried Green Tomatoes with warm pimento cheese to start, followed by the Grilled Portobello with quinoa and sautéed local squash.

575 Herrons Ferry Road, Rock Hill.

Nan and Byron’s ($30 menu)

Corey: The one time I tried to go to Nan and Byron’s it was closed for a private function and I haven’t made it back since. This would be a good chance to head back over to the South End spot to get some Sushi-Grade Tuna Tartare, Shrimp & Stone-Ground Grits and Nan’s Banana Pudding — yes please.

1714 South Blvd.

Heirloom ($35 menu)

Katie: Because why have I not been to this farm-to-fork spot yet? I’ll stick a fork in the Burton Farm Heirloom Pineapple Tomatoes to start and Westhill Farm Pink Locust Blossom Pasta to follow. For the ambitious: Wine pairings are available for $15.

8470 Bellhaven Blvd.

Fahrenheit ($35 menu)

Corey: You should do this one for the view if nothing else. Fahrenheit sits on the 21st floor of the Skye Condos and has a sweeping view of uptown Charlotte. I’ve only been there for a NASCAR media function so I haven’t enjoyed a full meal, but the Duck Fried Rice and Grilled Kurobuta Pork Chop from Chef Rocco Whalen sound lovely.
