Whole Foods coming to Uptown
The Story
Whole Foods apparently will announce this week it’s moving into uptown, giving the Center City two much-needed grocers.
The Facts
– RestaurantTraffic.com broke the news Tuesday that Whole Foods intends to be a tenant in the Crescent Communities development plans at Stonewall and South Caldwell, beside the Westin. 440 apartment units will also be a part of development.

– Store will be 47,000 square feet.
– Will feature rooftop restaurant and bar
– It will be the 4th Whole Foods in the Charlotte region. A 5th is slated to open at Providence and Ardrey Kell in 2016.

Great call for uptown. With all the new apartments getting built in uptown, and that particular end of Tryon Street on the hot development track, an upscale grocery store is a total score.
