Wow! Look at these home Christmas light shows!
The Story
If you just can’t deal with Christmas Town, USA — aka McAdenville, just across the Catawba in Gaston County – you don’t have to drive far to see some jaw-dropping Christmas displays that regular folks wrangle together.
The Lights
We’ll highlight just a couple here. But the always-excellent CharlotteontheCheap.com has a list of about 15, which will likely grow. At many of these spots, simply tune to a radio frequency to hear music synchronized to the lights.
Lights at the Quarter: 3003 Swanquarter Drive, near Harrisburg.
Mint Hill Light Show: 8427 Rolling Fields Road, Mint Hill
Hillside Avenue: Neighbors string these huge balls made of chicken wire wrapped in Christmas lights all along the street. They’re in Myers Park, between Woodlawn and Selwyn. It’s magical.
C5’s Take
We will never be this ambitious, so we’re glad others are. We’re also glad we don’t have to pay their electric bill or live next door.
