Playoffs come at a cost: Panthers spiking ticket prices
The Story
After two consecutive playoff runs, as weak as those “runs” were, the Panthers are increasing ticket prices for next season, according to letters mailed to 62,000 PSL owners.

The Numbers
– Most tickets increasing $2-$5. Expect to get a “non-premium” ticket for $43-$160.
– Prime seating tickets (b/t the 35-yard lines) going up $30. Club seats will start at $250.
Why?
– Two years in the playoffs. Success breeds demand.
– Did you think all those stadium costs were free?
How does that compare?
– According to Team Marketing Report, the average non-premium ticket in 2014 cost $84.43
– San Francisco had the highest average non-premium ticket: $117
– Jacksonville had the lowest, $57.65
– Panthers figured in the bottom quarter: $72.44

Even with the increase in ticket prices, the Panthers will still ranked in the bottom half of average ticket price in the NFL next season.
