20 pieces of art you can buy today and brag about to your friends tomorrow

Guest post by HappeningsCLT, follow them @happeningsclt.

Have you ever wondered if your home’s walls deserve better than what they currently have? Maybe you’ve wanted to ditch those World Market and Target prints, but didn’t know where to start?

In an effort to promote local talent and help spruce up your home (and your art cred), our team wants to share our top picks for the 20 best artworks to buy in Charlotte for under $1000.

This list contains works that fall under at least one of these categories: thoughtful, beautiful, challenging, interesting media, and multi-dimensional. Each is made by artists who, in ways big and small, want you to think about how you see the world around you.

However, buying art can be really tricky, especially when you’ve never done it before. We recommend that when you’re considering a purchase, ask yourself these questions:

1. Do I love this?

2. Is this piece Interesting?

3. Am I buying this to match my furniture?

If your answers are YES, YES, and NO, then go for it!
