Joe Biden

Where: Extravaganza Depot, a reception hall in NoDa

Why: Appearing with U.S. Secretary Anthony Foxx (former Charlotte mayor) to rally for investment in the nation’s transportation infrastructure. Part of the Grow America tour.

Michael Lewis

Who: New York Times best-selling author of “The Blind Side,” “Moneyball” and most recently “Flash Boys” about high-speed financial trading.

When: 7 p.m. Feb. 26

Where: Knight Theater

Why: Spring speaker for The Learning Society, Queens University of Charlotte’s speakers series.

Sonia Sotomayor

When: 11:05 a.m. March 12

Where: Davidson College, Duke Family Performance Hall

Why: The justices make an effort to visit college campuses when they’re not hearing cases.

The Woz

Who: Steve Wozniak, co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs

When: 12:30 p.m. April 1

Where: Le Meridien, 555 S. McDowell St.

Why: The 9th Annual Southeast Venture Conference, a big-time meeting of venture capitalists, angel investors, entrepreneurs

Biz Stone

Where: High Point University, Hayworth Fine Arts Center (yes, we know this isn’t Charlotte, but this was too big not to include)

Why: High Point University brings in amazing speakers.

Bryan Stevenson

Who: Executive Director of the Equal Justice Institute, which provides legal representation to indigent defendants and prisoners who have been denied fair and just treatment in the legal system.

When: 6:30 p.m. April 29

Why: Part of the Our Times: Re-Imagined series, sponsored by Bank of America, Charlotte Observer and Levine Museum of the New South
