Guy Fieri and ‘Diners, Drive-ins and Dives’ came to JJ’s Red Hots this week
Did you notice JJ’s Red Hots in Dilworth was closed a few days this week? There’s a good reason why.
Popular Food Network show “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” was filming at the restaurant Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, which forced JJ’s to shut down the location and suspend its 12 Days of Hot Dogs promo. The restaurant just found out this was happening last Friday, according to Chief Brand Officer Brandy Newton.
Host Guy Fieri was actually in town to film with owner Jonathan Luther just Thursday. He also did a staged lunch and interview segment with a small group of about 10 guests.
Newton said the focus of the filming was on the Kasekrainer, which won best sausage at Sausagefest, the signature hot dog lineup, and the chili and sausage-making process.
Newton said they don’t know when the episode will air, but “as soon as we find out all of Charlotte will know about it.”
“The production team was super awesome to work with,” Newton said in an email. “They loved JJ’s, our team and the food and we cant wait to have a viewing party!”
