CharlotteFive gift guide: Your toughest challenge yet - the Parents
This is Day 4 of our holiday gift guide. If you missed early installments, here are great ideas for your pets, special dude and special gal.
Parents. We literally would not be here if it weren’t for them. And yet, as much as you appreciate them, buying a gift for them is so hard. We have ideas:
A day at Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge
Treat your parents to a day at the Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge, where they can receive a couples massage or discover a la carte services including pedicures, facials (they have a specific one for men) and haircuts.
Consider gifting one of their signature packages, such as their Celebrations one that includes an overnight stay, strawberries and champagne at arrival and breakfast in the morning. Or maybe the Golf Retreat, which offers two rounds of golf and breakfast.
Grand in style and flexibility, the Lodge is the perfect spot for your holiday retreat.

The Wine Palette
Give the ‘rents a fun night out creating their very own masterpieces. But don’t feel like Mom and Dad need to be the next Picasso. There is an instructor that will help them through each step of their paintings. Include a bottle of their favorite wine as a nice touch.

Original artwork
Consider picking out a piece of work from their favorite artist’s collection or a piece that reminds you of your parent’s relationship and the love they have for each other. Don’t be afraid to talk to gallery owners, peruse local museums for inspiration and visit local art schools such as McColl Center for the Arts, where you may find beautiful paintings, sculptures, photographed images and more for a fraction of the cost.
You can also take our Charlotte artists quiz and learn more about local artists, and where to buy their work.

Enderly Coffee subscription
If your parents start their day with a cup of joe, sign them up for a local coffee delivery subscription so they can get their fix. Enderly Coffee, based in West Charlotte, offers weekly to yearly freshly roasted coffee delivery throughout the area. Bonus: If your parents live in Enderly Park, Wesley Heights or Frazier Park, Enderly will deliver their coffee for free.
