The city of Charlotte and the Checkers are working out a deal to renovate the old Coliseum along Independence Blvd. for $16 million.
– The Checkers have one year left on their Time Warner Arena contract. The Coliseum used to be the team’s old home.
– The $16 million in renovations would add a new scoreboard, seating, concession upgrades.
