Facts
– This Charlotte Business Journal awards gala was held Tuesday night in the atrium of Time Warner cable Area. About 350 attended according to the CBJ.
– Michael Jordan is 51 and although he was born in Brooklyn, he grew up in Wilmington, NC.
– Jordan paid around $175 million for majority ownership of the Bobcats/Hornets.
– Jordan thanked his financial advisor Curtis Polk. I thought this was kind of weird, but cool. Polk is currently the Vice Chairman of Hornets Sports & Entertainment. He handles the business/finances of MJ as well. So no, he doesn’t want to manage your $5,000 E-Trade account. Previously, Polk was the EVP of SFX Sports. He also co-produced Space Jam.
