NC is more into turkey that you realize. UNC put out an awesome turkey report and below are some highlights.

Facts

– NC’s highest turkey production year was in 1992 with 62 million turkeys.

– Side note: NC leads the nation in sweet potato production (top spot for last 42 years).

– 14% of US turkeys are produced in NC.

– NC has 419 turkey farms.

– In 2013 NC turkey production was a $769mil business.
