The Charlotte Observer has compiled a list of the top paid CEOs of publicly traded companies in North Carolina.

See which Charlotte-area CEOs landed in the top 20 and what they raked in during 2014:

Salary: $24.9 million

Pay raise from 2013: +231.5%

Say what? Huge hike because of stock and option awards. BTW, DeVore is a local success story: Graduated from South Meck, then UNCC and now runs Premier out of Ballantyne. AND, this is the first time a woman has topped this list.

Salary: $14.6 million

Pay raise from 2013: +11%

Company: Lowe’s Cos.

Salary: $14.3 million

Pay raise from 2013: -23.7%

Company: Sealed Air Corp. (makes bubble wrap)

Salary: $11.9 million

Company: SPX Corp. (industrial equipment manufacturer)
