Say goodbye to Jackalope Jacks in Elizabeth, hello to a new brewery in West Charlotte
Another piece of Elizabeth’s soul is getting chipped away: Developers have unveiled plans to build a 200-unit apartment building where neighborhood hangouts Jackalope Jacks and the former Philosopher’s Stone now sit.
This is big news for a corner of Elizabeth recently rocked by the news of Philosophers’ Stone closing.
Details:
– Entire property is 1.7 acres.
– 15,000 square feet of the development will be used for commercial businesses, such as a restaurant, barber shop, beauty store and/or offices.
– The apartments will wrap around a central parking deck.
– Faison is developer.
– The rezoning request will go before City Council in September for approval.
– The mourning begins now.
