BJ’s coming to the Metropolitan?
The Story
BJ’s Wholesale Club says it’s “actively pursuing” putting a store in the old Home Depot Design Center at the Metropolitan.
The Facts
– The space, below Target, is 122,000 square feet.
– Home Depot bailed in 2009, about 15 months after it opened. It’s sat idle since.
– BJ’s says it plans an announcement next month. The wholesale club has stores in Pineville, Concord and Mooresville.
The Quotes
– “I was hoping for an REI, but I’ll take a BJ’s or Costco.” – CharlotteObserver.com commenter
It should be a law for BJs and Costco to always have free samples…

C5’s Take
We’re Team Costco, but the proximity of BJ’s could be a game changer. Of course, then we’d have to deal with the horrid parking at the Metropolitan.
