PLANTS AND ZOMBIES: Carowinds is opening an “intra-active,” 3-D gaming attraction: Plants vs. Zombies. The Garden Warfare area will feature giant screens, surround sound and motion-based seats. Five-minute backyard battles will involve shooting at the other team’s screen with blasters. Get ready for the spring of 2016. Game on.
MONEY TALK: Charlotte-area home sales went up 6.1 percent in September 2015 compared to September 2014. Sales totaled 3,436 last month, the Observer’s Katie Peralta reported. At the same time, inventory fell 21.7 percent compared with September 2014.
What that means: The region has a 3.7-month supply of inventory, which is equal to 12,795 properties.
“That is below the six-month supply considered to be a balanced market under a widely accepted definition,” Peralta wrote.
STORM SCAMS: The Observer’s Deon Roberts shared that The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers about contractors who might be pushing repair jobs as a result of the SC floods. The risks: contractors taking customers’ money after doing a bad job, leaving the work incomplete or not evening doing the work.
Ten ways to avoid this scam include: Check the contractor’s track record.
