7 answers about the new Rhino Market & Deli

(1) Where is Rhino Market & Deli and when did it open?
Opening was on Saturday (2 days ago) and it’s located in the Wesley Heights neighborhood right behind the Burger & Co.
(2) What’s on the menu?
The lady working the deli told me her favorite sandwiches were the Hot Roast Beef, THE ABLT (avocado bacon lettuce tomato) and the Chicken Torta. I crushed the Chicken Torta.  Here is a look at the menu.
(3) What does the Chicken Torta sandwich there look like?

Glad you asked about that menu item because it’s the one I order and here is a pic. Very solid.
(4) Who owns the place?
Rob Rondelez, who used to help manage the Common Market. Great guy. In September, he told the Charlotte Observer: “My vision is to create a place that brings together the communities of Camp Greene, Wesley Heights and Bryant Park and offers them a place to gather for breakfast, coffee, lunch or drinks.”
(5) Why the name Rhino Market & Deli? Is it because they sell Rhino burgers?
Nope, they don’t serve Rhino meat. When I asked Rob why Rhino, he responded, “Why not?” He settled on Rhino because he was listening to an alphabet app that he has for his daughter and it said “R is for Rhino.” Stuck in his head! Also, his wife Ryan’s nickname in high school was Rhino. Overall, kind of random, but I like it.
(6) What’s the vibe?
The market very much has a coffee shop/ wine bar feel. It’s very clean with areas to hangout. Here’s a look.
(7) Does the Rhino Market & Deli have beer?
Yes, they have beer and wine. Here’s a look at what was on tap yesterday (Sunday):
