Your turn to help choose question subjects for the #CLTdebate
I’ve been studying up on political leanings lately. Specifically those of Republican Edwin Peacock and Democrat Jennifer Roberts, who will be facing off in a mayoral debate Wednesday.
Join Corey and me at the debate (he’ll be in the audience and I’ll be blurting out questions onstage) by registering here.

Need a few spark notes before the debate? Read about a few of the candidates’ stances:
Jennifer Roberts
– Advocates for better schools in Charlotte, with an emphasis on “constructive, positive programs to go to after school.”
– Stresses the need to create jobs. She supported the recruitment of companies such as ABB, Toshiba and Siemens during a recession. She also says she has supported small businesses and women- and minority-owned businesses.
– Bottom line: She seeks to expand economic opportunity across the city.

Edwin Peacock
– Wants to reduce crime by creating creating a task force called the Citizen Commission on Crime Reduction to create a comprehensive report on the issues of increasing accountability measures, gang-related crime, drugs and narcotics, and human trafficking.
– Hopes to reduce the tax burden on families and businesses with more efficient spending.
Bottom line: He seeks focus on making Charlotte “the most family friendly and business friendly city in America.”
