Brooks’ Sandwich House to announce reopening date

Get ready for the longest restaurant line that you’ll be extremely grateful to be standing in: Brooks’ Sandwich House will announce its reopening date later this week.

The restaurant temporarily closed after the shooting death of co-owner Scott Brooks on Dec. 9. He was killed as he arrived to open the restaurant for the day.

As police continue the search for two suspects, the community has shown up to support the restaurant that has supported it since 1973. The night Brooks was killed, hundreds of mourners came to a candlelight vigil. A beer has been brewed in his memory. The video of the suspects has been shared time and time again.

And soon enough, you’ll be able to support in the way the family has loved for years: with a cheeseburger all the way, topped with the family chili, of course.
