SouthPark’s first rooftop bar, Cordial, is opening soon — here are the details
Cordial, SouthPark’s first rooftop restaurant and bar, is set to open on June 19.
Located above AC Hotel Charlotte SouthPark, Cordial will pair views of uptown with a selection of cocktails and tapas.
“Now that we are able to open our doors, we look forward to providing a relaxed, comfortable space for people to gather once again,” Amanda Gibbons, food and beverage director of AC Hotel Charlotte SouthPark, said in a statement. “Our mission with Cordial has always been ‘elevating spirits,’ and that seems more relevant now than it ever did during our planning process.”
Featured cocktails include the Cordial Mojito, made with white and gold rum, Moroccan mint tea soda and lime cordial. The menu includes tapas and bar snacks such as empanadas, albondigas and flan.
“You have so much growth and development in Charlotte in all of its different neighborhoods,” Gibbons told CharlotteFive in February. “SouthPark is a little bit better established with the businesses here, but there’s no rooftop bar. We will be the first one, and we’re able to offer a [more] cocktail-focused experience than what’s currently here.”
While the mission of Cordial is “elevating spirits and elevating service,” Gibbons said the overall ambiance of the restaurant bar will accessible and comfortable.
She said she hopes that this sense of comfort will lead to Cordial becoming customers’ “home bar.”
“We’re really looking forward to being that spot for people — checking out someplace new and eventually having great regulars, everybody getting to know our bartenders and our team,” Gibbons said. “That’s really what we’ve been looking forward to through all this.”
Originally delayed from its spring opening because of COVID-19, Cordial will now open at reduced capacity. Cordial will only admit one third of the official capacity to ensure proper social distancing.
The restaurant will also use contactless menus and an outdoor staging area, where guests can wait for their table. Other COVID-19 safety precautions such as hand sanitizer, outdoor seating and face coverings for employees will also be implemented.
Cordial will be open Thursday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
