There’s Another Food Truck in Charlotte? Yep, and the name explains it all.
In the spirit of simplicity, Chef Anthony Denning and his fiancee, Kristen Bandoo, have decided to name their new food truck concept Another?! Food Truck. Yes, that’s the name. The couple, who took over the former 225 Street Food truck, chose the name to reflect their own playfulness and to hopefully get people talking.
“After my former business partners and I closed down 225 Street Food, I was joking with my fiancee and said, ‘I guess I’ll just open another food truck,” Denning told CharlotteFive. “Kristen thought it was the perfect name for my next truck, so it stuck.”
Growing up, Denning spent lots of time cooking alongside his grandfather. After relocating to Charlotte from Raleigh in 2011, he pursued his culinary degree at the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Charlotte.
In 2018, along with two other business partners, he launched the 225 Street Food concept, which was inspired by the temperature needed to perfectly braise meat. After taking over the 225 Street Food truck and brand in January, Denning and Bandoo are ready to completely rebrand their business.
This truck brings a totally new concept, menu and flavor profiles.
Another?! Food Truck will feature some of our childhood favorites, but with a modern yet Southern twist.
“This isn’t your run of the mill food truck. Most of the things on our menu you can’t just go and get from anywhere else, from our Average Sauce down to the cheese sauce we use in our mac and cheese.”
The initial menu includes the Hot Chicken Smash (grilled cheese-style sandwich served with a grilled breast, Monterey Jack cheese, house pickles, house-made herb ranch and crispy onions) and Dirty Mac (macaroni and cheese with braised beef, collard greens, Average Sauce, topped with a cornbread crumble), to name a few.
A full menu can be found on the company’s website, and the truck will be out on Wednesdays through Saturdays.
