A fast-casual, custom burger joint is opening in south Charlotte by January
Decisions are hard, especially when it comes to food. Do you want the BBQ burger, breakfast burger, or veggie patty?
Burgerim—a fast-casual burger chain with locations in California, Texas, and Florida (among others)—will bring the solution to Charlotte: customizable mini burgers. Nestled in the retail space with Chipotle, Starbucks, and Panera Bread, the newest tenant in the City Park community off Tyvola Road (Potomac River Parkway, Suite C, Charlotte, NC 28217) will add another eatery to the mix.
Their message is simple: “It’s what you crave.” Burgerim (which translates to “many burgers”) opened business with a mindset of changing how customers consumed a timeless treat by offering small, customizable entrees. More than 160 additional franchises opened within five years of business.
The California-based chain gives customers the option of an uno, duo, trio, or party box (16) of customizable 2.8-oz burgers. It all starts with the patty: choose from beef, turkey, lamb, dry-aged beef, chicken, chorizo, salmon, veggie, Merguez, and Wagyu. Burgerim is dedicated to working with farmers who provide a high-quality product to ensure better nutritional value. Add classic toppings, or spice it up with pineapple, a sunny-side-up egg, and a variety of cheeses. Then, finish it off with a dollop of Special House Sauce or a hint of BBQ and top it with a classic, gluten-free, or whole wheat bun.
Fun fact: To ensure there’s no “boring bottom bun,” toppings are placed on the bottom bun, followed by the patty, which is covered in sauce before the addition of the top bun.
Additional selections
To offer even more options, the restaurant offers salads and starters, like chicken wings and crispy chicken strips. A burger never feels complete without a side of fries (classic or sweet potato) or onion rings. Not sure which you’re craving? No decisions necessary–get a half-and-half: half regular, half sweet potato.
If you have room, names like Marshmallow Dream, New York Cheesecake, and Flourless (gluten-free) chocolate cake may tempt you to order dessert.
The fast-casual chain supports the community by offering a 50 percent discount for on-duty police officers, firefighters, and paramedics. In their Greensboro location, a local artist painted a mural on the patio to commemorate first responders.
What’s in store for the Charlotte location? A Burgerim representative said they like to add a “new touch” and “do something unique for each location.”
Ready to take a bite (or three)? They’re projected to finish construction at the end of November, with an estimated opening in late December/early January.
