A new beer garden is now open in a bustling location in Fort Mill
Upscale seafood restaurant Fish Market Bar & Grill in Fort Mill is expanding with Pět Piv, an adjacent beer garden that is now open.
Pět Piv — Czech for five beers — will have 12 beers and four wines on tap. The outdoor space located at 990 Market St., in the Baxter Village neighborhood, seats 50-70 people at a variety of picnic tables and cozy seating areas.
Guests can expect a food menu that includes pizza and bar food dishes. The beer garden features umbrellas and a pergola to allow for coverage from the elements.
Owner Selena Kelemen broke ground on the beer garden in the grassy area adjacent to the restaurant late last year. “I wanted to create another option for people looking for a cool and casual place to hang out,” Kelemen said.
Kelemen began her career in the restaurant industry waiting tables during college before partnering to open Fish Market and eventually buying out her partner. Her goal was to create a fine dining restaurant with a mom-and-pop feel.
“When I met my husband, he was living in Florida. I knew I didn’t want to live in a tourist economy. I wanted to get to know my regulars -— see them on their first dates, getting engaged, getting married, having babies and watching their babies grow up. That’s what means so much to me,” Kelemen said.
Pět Piv will serve as another way for Kelemen to grow that connection within the expanding Fort Mill community.
