Gluten-free doughnuts, comfortable vibes are coming to Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood
In the mood for a delicious gluten-free delight? Well, you now have a plethora of sweet treat options to look forward to because Donut I Love You will open in NoDa within the next few months.
Once Donut I Love You can get into the space that used to be NoDa Yoga, renovations on the space will take a few months.
Located on a corner between Whiting Avenue and East 35th Street, D.I.L.Y’s new 704 square-foot building will be just half a mile from the LYNX Blue Line 36th Street stop.
“My best guess is hopefully by the end of the year, we will be open,” co-founder Lindsey Patel told CharlotteFive recently.
As D.I.L.Y has operated out of a food truck, Patel said “our end goal has always been to open up a brick-and-mortar.” In fact, Patel has been on the hunt over the past year for a new location that she said “would meet our needs, but also the community’s needs.”
As this family business will now be housed in a commercial building, it’s nestled in a residential area, which Patel says has been “very welcoming” already.
Whether you want to bring your laptop and work from home or hang out with a furry friend on the dog-friendly patio, the new doughnut shop will be just the perfect comfort spot.
“This is gonna be a place where people can meet their neighbors, have coffee with them or have a place to walk with their kids,” Patel said.
While you can expect to be tempted by the fresh waft of D.I.L.Y’s baked goods on opening day, the new location will have a “little bit of an expanded menu,” which includes tea, shakes, grab-and-go bars and muffins and an added decaf coffee option.
