Another dessert shop is coming to Charlotte this week: Insomnia Cookies.

The late-night bakery concept, known for its classic and deluxe cookies, has over 250 locations around the world. On Friday, Insomnia Cookies will be expanding in Charlotte by opening a new Plaza Midwood location with freebies and treats.

This will be the fourth Insomnia Cookies bakery in Charlotte, opening at 1401 Central Ave Suite 102 near Midwood Smokehouse and Moo & Brew, joining locations in uptown, South End and UNC Charlotte.

Founded in a college dorm by a group of friends, Insomnia Cookies has become a hot spot for those with a sweet-tooth, offering cookies, brownies, ice cream and more.

The new location will be open for late night pickup and delivery on weekdays and on weekends.

Hours: Sunday 12 p.m.-1 a.m.; Monday-Wednesday 11-1 a.m.; Thursday-Friday 11-3 a.m.; Friday 12-3 a.m.
