A go-to Charlotte spot for ramen, other Japanese cuisine permanently closed
Sosu, a Central Avenue restaurant in Charlotte known for ramen and other Japanese cuisine, is now listed by Google as permanently closed.
The restaurant’s website and social media have been taken down, as well.
We’ve reached out to co-owners Rocky Jokbengboon and B. Esthela Mendoza, who recently opened Pha Khao Lao Cuisine inside new food hall Monarch Market in uptown Charlotte. When we hear back, we’ll update with more information.
Meanwhile, if you stop into Monarch Market or order at Pha Khao Lao, you can expect to find the flavors of Laos, with meats, sticky rice and seasonal noodle soups.
A second restaurant that Jokbengboon and Mendoza co-owned, Naroodle Chibi in Rock Hill’s Power House food hall, closed up shop recently, as well. The Power House development opened in late June.
