New Vietnamese restaurant Kim Anh Bánh Mì & Boba has opened along Charlotte’s Central Avenue, providing a shop to grab a banh mi sandwich or a quick boba tea fix.

“We would like to thank everyone near and far for stopping in for Grand opening!!,” the shop tucked in a section of businesses between Manolo’s Bakery and Landmark Diner posted on Instagram. “The amount of love we have received is amazing!”

Step inside the bright, white space filled with fresh flowers to view the compact menu, which offers simple selections. The restaurant’s banh mi comes with cucumber, pickled daikon and carrots, cilantro, jalapeno and butter or pâté.

Sandwich options include:

  • Special combination: pork roll, jambon and ham
  • Grilled pork
  • Pork patties
  • Pork meatball
  • Vegetarian
  • Grilled chicken
  • Roast red pork
  • Fried egg

Each are $7.50, except for the $6.50 fried egg version — and if you buy five sandwiches, you get a sixth one free.

The restaurant is already gaining an early fan following.

Elizabeth Lopez shared in the CLT Asian Eats Facebook group, “Run, don’t walk to Kim Anh Banh Mi Boba … literally went on my lunch break for spring rolls and tea, ordered 3 for my coworkers as well, & walking back to my car they spilled & busted trying to open my car door I was so ashamed to go back but already promised my coworkers I would treat them.

“They were SUPER NICE about my accident, took my broken cups, & remade … spring rolls were fresh and tea was delicious. Need to go back for Banh Mi! Very nice people.”
