Restaurant voted best tacos in Charlotte opens new location in uptown

The wait is over. The long-anticipated second location of Que Fresa opens in uptown Charlotte on Tuesday, Jan. 14.

The strawberry-pink themed taqueria — named the CharlotteFive Readers’ Choice winner for best tacos in the area — will bring its familiar menu to the Duke Energy Plaza location, where its previous opening date was slightly adjusted.

Preppy Tacos you can scarf down include Salmon and Roasted ‘Shrooms and Drunken Baja Fish, while its Street Tacos offer more traditional flavors such as Carnitas, Al Pastor and Chicken Tinga.

A grand opening Taco Tuesday party will include giveaways and a DJ.

Other things you’ll want to watch out for include:

  • $9.95 lunch specials with options like tacos, rice and beans featuring proteins such as pulled chicken tinga and pollo asado
  • Signature cocktails such as the Colada Mojito, Cantarito Mule
  • Grab-and-go options with hot and cold options like breakfast tacos, burritos and wraps
